Idol Worship

Anyone else find it odd not just the amount of celebrity worship in this country, but where it's focused?

Nothing against Michael Jackson, but seems like there hasn't been a day go by since he died that we've heard about it. Great entertainer, sure. Forward thinker. Humanitarian. That's fine and dandy.

Why has there been almost nothing on Les Paul since his death? When people say this-or-that person "changed music," at best it's an exaggeration, at worst an outright lie. Les Paul LITERALLY changed music. He changed how music is assembled and recorded. Without him, we would not have the electric guitar as we know it, overdubbing or multitrack recording. The only people really acknowledging how important Les was are the actual educated musicians. It's quite sad.

Well, I have some writing to do.
